Baker Hughes, in a move to sharpen its focus on its core energy technology and services businesses, divested several of its sensing and measurement portfolio companies to Crane Company (NYSE: CR). The acquisition transferred three globally recognized brands — Druck, Panametrics, and Reuter-Stokes — into Crane Company's Process Flow Technologies segment, alongside existing Crane precision measurement businesses.
Crane Company, a diversified industrial manufacturer with roots going back to 1855, has been actively building a portfolio of high-precision sensing, flow control, and instrumentation businesses. The acquisition of Druck, Panametrics, and Reuter-Stokes is consistent with this strategy, adding world-class measurement and sensing capabilities to Crane's existing portfolio.
About the Three Brands
Druck — Pressure Measurement & Calibration
Founded in Leicester, UK, in 1972, Druck pioneered silicon micro-machined pressure sensing technology that set the standard for accuracy and reliability in pressure measurement. Druck products — from the flagship PACE pressure controllers to the DPI portable calibrators and the GENII multifunction calibrator — are used by refineries, calibration laboratories, aerospace manufacturers, and defence agencies in over 50 countries.
In Egypt, Druck products are widely used across EGPC affiliates and independent producers for field calibration, process transmitter verification, and precision pressure measurement in safety systems. The ATEX-certified DPI705E IS is particularly popular for intrinsically safe portable pressure checks in hazardous areas.
Panametrics — Ultrasonic Flow & Gas Analysis
Panametrics traces its heritage to GE's sensing division and decades of research into ultrasonic measurement science. Their FlareIQ flare gas measurement system is the industry standard for emissions monitoring and flare management in Oil & Gas plants. The MoistureIQ and OxygenIQ analyzers provide critical process quality measurements in gas treating, pipeline compression, and LNG facilities.
In Egypt, Panametrics flow meters and gas analyzers are deployed at major gas processing facilities in the Western Desert and offshore Mediterranean fields, where accurate gas measurement and quality monitoring are mission-critical.
Reuter-Stokes — Radiation Detection & Industrial Sensing
Reuter-Stokes has been supplying radiation detection instruments since the 1950s, with a particularly strong reputation in nuclear power plant instrumentation. Their hydrocarbon flame detectors — the Flame Trucker series — are widely used in Oil & Gas facilities, providing UV/IR detection of hydrocarbon fires with excellent false-alarm immunity.
Beyond flame detection, Reuter-Stokes gamma density gauges and nuclear level instruments are used in refineries and chemical plants where traditional instrumentation cannot be installed due to high temperatures, pressures, or aggressive process media.

For existing customers in Egypt, this acquisition means continuity. All three brands operate under their established names with the same product lines, engineering teams, and service capabilities. Crane Company has committed to investing in the technology roadmaps of all three brands, and no product discontinuations are expected.
