Zone 1 vs Zone 2 — What Does It Mean?
Zone 1 / 21 Frequently hazardous
Explosive gas or dust atmospheres are likely to occur in normal operation. Requires the highest level of equipment protection. All i.Safe Mobile devices are Zone 1/21 certified.
Zone 2 / 22 Occasionally hazardous
Explosive atmospheres are unlikely in normal operation and only exist for short periods. Zone 1/21 certified devices are fully approved for Zone 2/22 — a single device works across your entire plant.
